The Washington State Conservation Commission (SCC) plans to offer funding opportunities to Washington nurseries through the Riparian Plant Propagation Program (RPPP). This program is designed to increase availability of native trees and shrubs needed for riparian restoration projects to support statewide salmon recovery efforts. SCC intends to contract with Washington nurseries interested in propagating native riparian plants to support this goal. SCC has already solicited two rounds of contracts with Washington nurseries to propagate bulk wholesale trees/shrubs over a 2-3 year grow period. This Request for Information (RFI) is intended to gather feedback on the current contract process to ensure it effectively supports nurseries.
This third round of contract grows solicitation is planned for release in spring 2025, covering a grow period of fall 2025 through June 2027. The contracts may be extended an additional year to accommodate typical plant delivery schedules in fall 2027/spring 2028.
