The 2024 Eastern Washington Commissioner election is underway! Below is an overview of the 2024 timeline for the election process.
• SCC staff sent emails to all district managers verifying supervisor emails. Responses are due back by Friday, November 15.
• Oct. 1 – An email was sent out via GovDelivery describing the election process and call for interested candidates in the Eastern region to apply.
• Nov. 15 – Candidate Interest Forms due to the Commission by 5:00 p.m.
• Nov. 18 – SCC staff will share all candidate information received for supervisor review prior to the election.
• Dec. 2 – Meet and greet with the interested candidates at the WACD Annual Meeting via in-person or online (it will be the candidate’s preference).
• Dec. 2 – Electronic ballots will be sent at 6:00 p.m. to all CD supervisor’s email addresses the SCC has on record. (Alternative voting options will be available upon request.) Note: Voting will be open for 48 hours.
• Dec. 4 – Voting closes promptly at 6:00p.m. Winners will be announced immediately after.
• Dec. 5 – Elected candidate will begin their service at the Commission Meeting in Spokane.
