Updated Shellfish Program guidelines are now available from the State Conservation Commission (SCC) for review and comment. The main proposed update to the guidelines provides more guidance on what type of projects SCC is looking to fund. Every biennium, the Shellfish grant program funds projects to the fourteen shellfish-producing conservation districts to implement best management practices (BMPs) that protector improve the quality of water draining into shellfish growing areas by reducing non-point (typically agricultural) pollution. The Shellfish Program guidelines were last updated in 2018.
