Pomeroy Conservation District is holding an in-person election for a board supervisor position on Feb. 11, 2025. The poll site will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Pomeroy Conservation District, 910 Main Street, Pomeroy WA 99347. The Pomeroy Conservation District assists the farmers and ranchers of Garfield County with the information/education and cost share programs needed to help them move forward with the lasted cost effective and efficient conservation practices available to improve or maintain the current soil health, water quality and productivity of their operations. Many farmers and ranchers have used our programs to move into Direct Seeding programs with guidance and variable rate systems, off site livestock watering facilities, improved irrigation systems and aggressive noxious weed control on our range land.
Meets the second Tuesday of each month, at 7:00 pm (December-February), or at 7:30 pm (March-November), in the district office (no meetings in the months of July and August).
Pomeroy Conservation District is helping a local livestock owner by developing infrastructure for a feedlot that will improve cattle management, reduce soil erosion, and enhance plant health, all while utilizing an existing water source and avoiding impact to Lower Deadman Creek.
