Temporary reduction in SCC program funding

Updated: August 4, 2017

The Washington State Conservation Commission (SCC) currently is unable to allocate funds from several of our programs.

Many SCC programs rely on funding from the State Capital Budget. The State Legislature didn’t pass a new capital budget by the July 1 deadline and has yet to do so.

What SCC programs are affected?

Unfortunately, until a capital budget is passed, we have no new funding available for the following programs:

  • Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program
  • Shellfish Program
  • Natural Resource Investments Program (Non-shellfish)
  • Regional Conservation Partnership Program

We’re deeply concerned about impacts to our partners and delays to on-the-ground conservation projects.

We’ve heard from several partners who are affected by this interruption in program funding. Please let us know at the SCC the details of these impacts. You may also share the information with your legislators.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us with questions about our programs — we’ll do our best to answer them. (SCC main office: 360-407-6936)
