The Pomeroy Conservation District is seeking an individual to fill a Resource Technician/Conservation Planner position with the first emphasis on the Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program (CREP). The Pomeroy Conservation District is a sub division of State Government and is an organization comprised of volunteer board members and paid staff members that are leaders in “natural resources conservation and improvement”. The district is seeking an individual that will complement skilled staff to deliver quality conservation programs to Garfield County residents.
We are seeking to fill a Resource Technician/Conservation Planner position to help address our significant workload and take a bigger role in the district CREP program. The employee in this position will work closely with local landowners, coworkers, conservation partners and others to develop and implement voluntary conservation plans specific to each landowner’s resource needs.
The Pomeroy Conservation District is primarily grant funded and the employee of this position will be required to develop additional grants for continued funding and program implementation.
Employees with advanced college education/degree in agricultural sciences, watershed management, soils, water quality, biology, general natural sciences, environmental sciences, wildlife management, natural resource management, or closely related fields are encouraged to apply.
Position is full-time. Wage rate will be based on qualifications and experience. Position includes District benefits package: medical insurance; 11 paid holidays per year; and annual & sick leave.
