National Association of Conservation Districts launches new Urban Agriculture Conservation grants initiative

NACD_Logo_smallWith support from the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), the NACD Urban and Community Resource Policy Group (RPG) is developing a new Urban Agriculture Conservation grants initiative. NACD and NRCS have teamed up to help conservation districts and their partners provide much-needed conservation technical assistance for urban agriculture in predominantly developed and developing areas. NACD will likely provide funding for a technical staff person in up to 20 districts for one year. They expect to release a formal Request for Proposals sometime in May.

NACD hosts Urban and Community Conservation Webinar this May

NACD is hosting a Urban and Community Conservation webinar on May 19 (scheduled for 12:00-1:00pm Eastern time) that will feature this new grants initiative. NACD leadership will announce the goals, and RPG representatives will cover the details. A portion of the time will be used to answer districts’ questions. To best prepare for the Q&A, NACD asks that districts send any questions they have to Deb Bogar at deb-bogar@nacdnet.org prior to the webinar.
